How It Looks for Our Children
Our children don’t have ordinary bedrooms. One daughter has turned her room into a dog hotel. She often babysits dogs.
Two of our teen daughters have turned their room into a scrap-booking oasis and a set for Instagram reels.
The three youngest girls share a room–a space exploding with books and art supplies where they currently bask in the joy of a mama cat and her three kittens.
Our two boys have a piano, guitars, drum-set and music studio in their room where they practice, record and produce music.
Yet another daughter has a room full of plants.

How It Looks Outside
The yard is nothing close to ordinary. It’s a twenty two acre homestead that fills our freezer with grassfed beef and produces vast amounts of sweet potatoes, kale, cucumbers, squash, tomatoes and herbs. We raise turkeys, ride horses, tame roosters, tap trees for syrup, host festivals, plant orchards, and collect eggs daily. Why? Because we love being in control of our food supply, knowing that the grocery stores are tainted with GMOs, chemicals and mass produced processed foods that are inferior and even toxic.

In a world where organic foods are pricier, we return to the garden and pastures.
It’s not just about raising food on the land, it’s the joy of working the land and being in nature. It’s the fun of having sheep and goats! It’s the joy of teaching our children about planting seeds and having the satisfaction of creating beautiful meals from foods we brought forth from the earth. It’s the glory of sunflowers and ripe strawberries!

Our “Why”
Our home is bursting with life. We use every space to the fullest.
Why? Because a man and a woman made their home the heart and focus of their life. Our place in the world. We wanted to transform an ordinary space into a place of industry, education, nurture, food production, creativity and worship. Together we did it. And from our family and our home we launch innovative, kind, industrious and joyful young adults.
Our home is everything, it is the center of life, work, play and learning.
Because as husband and wife we wanted to create a beautiful world for our children. We understood and defined our roles in the family. We embraced our gifts, talents, dreams and collaborated to build one dream.
As an adventurous, intelligent, resourceful and creative woman, I decided I was going to take my job as a homemaker seriously. When I felt the calling to be a homemaker and wanted to pursue a dream of having as many children as possible – I took one look at the typical suburban lifestyle, and said, “Boring!”
So with passion and purpose we set to work to transform our house into a world of possibilities where our family and community would flourish, as a place that allows me to use my imagination and talents to design a place for life.
