Multi-faceted Success: Academics and Beyond
Jill shares that Kassidy has made significant strides in other areas too. Her processing speed and speech impediment have improved. Kassidy can process, remember, and execute multi-step directions now – something that proved impossible before.
Even Kassidy’s artistic abilities are enhanced. “She loves art and she loves drawing,” Jill says. “And she sees things differently now. Dyslexia Games has retrained her brain and her vision.”
“People think of dyslexia, and they think it’s math or reading, but it’s not just that,” continues Jill. “It affects so many areas of life. If you can retrain the brain to see and do things differently, you can see a lot of improvement.”
“Before, when it came time for school or homework she was completely shut down. Now, she carries a book with her everywhere. She can read a whole chapter out loud. She looks forward to math. She’s a completely different person.”
| Jill’s Tips for Parents Be patient – It’s not a quick fix, like overlays or fonts. Dyslexia Games doesn’t just address symptoms; it takes care of the underlying problem. Complete the entire series – Kassidy sometimes wanted to give up during the first two books, but Jill notes that they saw the most progress near the end of the series. Keep it positive – On days when Kassidy was not responding well, they took a break to keep it light and have some fun. |
