His Story: The Musical

Creating His Story

Anna began writing His Story after hearing the music from Hamilton. She started writing at the age of 16 and found her flow quickly. Within a year she wrote 30 full-length songs based on the life of Jesus as told in the book of Matthew.

After writing the songs, the ball started to roll for a concept album. Musicians from around the globe gathered together to see these songs come to life. The songs were professionally recorded and a series of videos were taken to go along with them. The album was released in 2018.

His Story Release and Reception

His Story was an instant hit. Within a few weeks, it was streamed over 100,000 times on Spotify. The most popular video on YouTube, Arrive, has over 225,000 views. Word of mouth spread and the musical eventually gained the attention of Grammy award-winning record producer Ken Caillat (Fleetwood Mac “Rumors” album”) who helps Anna connect with Broadway producer Bruce Lazarus.

His Story Broadway Workshop
After negotiations and an extensive casting search, His Story was ready for a Broadway workshop. This workshop took place in the late winter/spring of 2022. Tony nominee Jeff Calhoun directed. Calhoun was director for hits such as the stage production of High School Musical, Grease revival, the Newsies musical, and more. There are plans in the works for an opening in Dallas next Easter.
